Homemade Baby Gifts
Our good friends just had a baby boy and I had a blast sewing cute baby things to send them. I made a tie onesie, chenille burp clothes, and a baby bib. My favorite part of sewing gifts is picking out the fabric. I could spend hours looking at fabric...just ask my husband. He hates going to Joann's!
Remember those cute tie t-shirts I made my boys? I used the same concept here for the onesie. You can freehand a pattern, or search online for a pattern and reduce.

Remember those chenille burp cloths on this post?
They are just as soft and sweet in these brown and aqua colors for a baby boy.
And lastly I made my first bib...and I made a pattern using an existing bib and used terry cloth on the back so it can be used for easy clean up.
I always hated when the velcro closures on my baby's bibs would catch on everything in the dryer, so I opted for a snap closure instead. I love the jumbo size of these snaps, perfect for baby bibs!
And of course no baby boy gift would be complete without a little Red Sox shirt. That I did not make....Hopefully this baby gift makes its way to baby Ben in Paupa New Guinea! I have heard things can get caught in customs and sometimes packages never make it. I am hoping this one will.
Happy Sewing!
Hmmm, I think it would be easier for me if I just asked my sister in law to make one of those tie onesies for me! I may have to "order" one for my sister's baby boy. Soo cute!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute! They will be so thrilled. I didn't have any problems when I sent a box but that was a while ago.
